About Filtiva
Our mission
Filtiva exists to give homeowners clear, honest answers about water treatment. Water softeners, whole house filters, and reverse osmosis systems are expensive, and the marketing around them can be confusing. We want you to understand what your water needs, what a fair price looks like, and how to keep your system working.
What we cover
- Water softeners, including salt-based and salt-free systems
- Whole house filters for city and well water
- Well water testing and treatment
- Reverse osmosis and under-sink drinking water systems
- Water testing, maintenance, and repair
- Costs, so you know what to expect before you get quotes
Who we are
Filtiva is written and edited by the Filtiva Editorial Team. We research each topic using primary and authoritative sources: the U.S. EPA, CDC, USGS, NSF, the Water Quality Association, university extension programs, and manufacturer manuals. Read about how we research.
What we don't do
- We don't claim to have tested products we haven't tested.
- We don't sell or install water treatment equipment.
- We don't let affiliate commissions decide what we recommend.
